Rob Holt
Rob Holt grew up on Kaweka Hunting, teaching himself how to hunt, and spending days rafting down the nearby Mohaka River.
He has successfully guided many clients on hunts at Kaweka Hunting’s ranch, with a 100% trophy success rate! He has had experience hunting throughout New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, and New Caledonia. In other words, he is a great guide and a big part of Kaweka hunting!
Rob grew up on the property, helping his dad on the family farm. In his spare time, Rob taught himself how to hunt. He began hunting starting with his pet foxy dog and a slug gun going after possums and rabbits, then advancing to shooting his first deer in his early teens.
After leaving school, Rob followed his keen interest in farming, spending a number of years getting experience around the country. This included a stint high country mustering in the South Island before returning home to the family farm, which he managed for over 10 years. So, with his enthusiasm for hunting, it was a logical move to include a hunting service to the farm operation. This has become the very successful Kaweka Hunting. Rob’s focus is on providing his clients with a superb Kiwi hunting experience.
Rob has been professionally guiding clients throughout New Zealand for the past 11 years. As a sideline, Rob spent some time jumping out of helicopters to catch goats and shoot deer. On some of these outings, he certainly did a few crazy things that make good stories! So, remember to ask him when you are out waiting for that trophy deer to appear.
Rob is a family man, married to his wife Nadine and the father of his two daughters, Tiegan and Zoe.
