Leigh Montaperto

Leigh Montaperto is a recent addition to our wonderful guide team at the ranch – and boy are we glad to have him be a part of everything that Kaweka has to offer! Many of our visitors boast about his impressive guiding skills as well as how great of a jokester he is. You will never get bored when Leigh is guiding you through a hunt! With several years of valuable experience in various types of hunting, he is a real asset to the team and we couldn’t be any happier to have him.

Leigh is a born and bred Hawke’s Bay man and is also an avid deer hunter. He may be the smallest, and the oldest (sorry Leigh), but you’d have to be pretty quick to out run him!

Leigh is very keen when it comes to upland game hunting, and loves working with his two gun dogs. When not guiding visitors at the ranch, fishing and boating (both salt and fresh water), or hunting, Leigh keeps himself busy as a self-employed Tiler.

Leigh is a devoted husband to his wife Carla, to his one son and two beautiful daughters, and is now a grandfather.

Yep, he’s a pretty busy man!
